Probably the best village in the world
Bucklesham is a small rural parish sitting in the Suffolk countryside surrounded by farmland. We are 7 miles from Ipswich, 7 miles from Woodbridge and 7 miles from Felixstowe. Our neighbours are the villages of Brightwell, Newbourne, Hemley, Kirton, Stratton Hall, Levington, Nacton and Foxhall.
Here in Bucklesham we have many fantastic amenities. There is a beautiful Village Hall, the fantastic Bucklesham County Primary School and the picturesque St Mary’s Church. Shell Cottage, near St Mary's Church, used to be the old school and the names of some of the children can still be found scratched on the walls.
In the heart of the village is the Playing Field. The field is for the benefit of the inhabitants of Bucklesham and their guests, and we ask all who use the field to take their litter home with them and treat our facilities with respect. There is an immaculate football pitch for all to use. If you would like to unlock the goals please contact the Parish Council for the code. We have an extensive children’s play area with swings, adventure tail, rope walks and obstacle courses and a massive climbing frame. There is also a smaller climber for toddlers and springy rockers too. We have five large picnic benches seating up to eight people, and park benches along the boundary. We also have two concrete table tennis tables, just bring your own bats and balls.
If you need any information about the defibrillator in a non emergency please contact the Parish Council Clerk at clerk@buckleshamparishcouncil.gov.uk
