Children's Play Area

whole area2This amazing children's play area was installed in 2026 after a mammoth fundraising effort by the Parish Council, supported by the Community Council, and with the help of the whole village.

The entire area was designed with the children of the village, following a consultation event in the Village Hall. We listened carefully to what the children wanted and why, and worked hard to provide this for them.

giant climbing frame4

The centerpiece is this Woodland Tower, complete with hexagonal platform, rock wall, cargo net, tube slide, climbing ramp, stainless steel slide, wobble bridge & net tunnel bridge, ladder, steps and Fireman's pole.

We reused the old slide in an attempt to re-cycle as much as possible from the old equipment that was removed. The slide was still in perfect condition and NGF Play ensured it fitted perfectly.

It provides hours of fun and is surrounded by specialist safety matting, just in case!

rope swing

One of the most requested items was the rope swing. This is suitable for children and adults so the whole family can play on this item at the same time as there is an extra wide seating area and hand holds.

It has proved to be a huge hit and we are sure you can hear the children squealing with laughter as far away as Felixstowe!

Cone Spinner2Included in the area is a Cone Climber which had been requested by village children for years.

This interactive piece spins as you climb and provides a thrilling experience for the more daring user as it is 3m tall.

Just make sure you get your bearings again before wandering off to investigate other pieces...

junior play boat2We also have an under 5's inclusive themed climber play boat complete with 1m platform with timber roof, lower den, steps with handrails, cargo net, gangplank, double width slide, ground level foredeck with seating, mast, anchors and portholes. This is an excellent piece of equipment for the younger children and for those with additional and special educational needs.

The steps have handrails, and the inclusive slide is double the width of a traditional slide, so is therefore suitable for children with complex physical disabilities. The wide entrance allows room for wheelchairs meaning everyone can join in.

trim trail 1The area is surrounded by a 52 meter trim trail which offers huge benefits to developing children. As well improving balance and general co-ordination, it encourages social interaction and a competitive spirit, and most important for the children – it is great fun.

Once again, in an effort to reuse and recycle, the original metal chains from the original play equipment that we removed were incorporated into the design of the new trim trail and suspension bridge.

duo swing 2We have double bay swings including two flat seats, one cradle, and one duo seat for parents and carers to swing with their child. This means that children with additional needs are able to join in and swing with their friends and siblings on the same piece of equipment.

musical sensory areaThe all-inclusive musical log circle includes an 8-piece chimes set- fitted to a recycled plastic board, a multi-chimes piece - fitted to a central log cluster, bongos, tongue drum, rain wheel, and a bell tree, and it is all installed into a log run circle to create musical circle.

This area has proved to be incredibly popular with all children who visits the site. It was deliberately situated on the edge of the area to ensure that any children with additional needs who did not want to be in the middle of a high-traffic area, could join in peacefully on the side.

Sensory piecesOur inclusive play panel station is also very popular. It consists of four individual pieces to keep little fingers occupied.

There is a maze ball panel, a snake tile game panel, a Formula 1 racing game panel, and a pin ball play panel. All this is installed on recycled plastic posts.

Both these pieces were incorporated into the design after the consultation with residents focused the minds of the Parish Council into ensuring all children in the village were considered and included.

see saw2And no play area is complete without a traditional see-saw.

This was the second most requested item by village children, and it is lovely to see that the old fashioned pieces are still very much loved today. Don't worry - it is suitable for adults too!

Our beautiful play area was installed by NGF Play Ltd from Gressenhall near Dereham. We are very grateful to the whole team for their patience, professionalism and craftmanship.
